Description
Discovering an intense and seductive champagne
The estate
Since its creation in 1818 by the spouses Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas-François Billecart, the Billecart-Salmon Champagne House has remained independent, preserving all of its know-how and the high quality of its vintages for 7 generations.
The vineyard
The Billecart-Salmon vineyard stretches from the Côte des Blancs to the Montagne de Reims and covers almost 100 hectares. The vines are cultivated and cared for in the traditional manner in order to get as close to the authentic fruit as possible and to reflect the quality of the Champagne region’s terroir.
Vinification and ageing
73% of the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus are used in the production of this 2009 Vintage. The blend of this Vintage combines 3 unique characteristics of the Champagne terroir, namely the body and power of the Pinot Noir (40%), the finesse of the Chardonnay (33%) and the delicate white fruit notes of the Pinot Meunier (27%).
The Vintage 2009 by the Billecart-Salmon Champagne House is elaborated and aged for 9 years in the coolness of the chalk cellars.
