Description
The intensity of a distinguished, charming wine
The estate
Since its creation in 1818 by the married couple, Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas-François Billecart, the Billecart-Salmon Champagne House has remained independent, having preserved all of its know-how and demand for high-quality cuvées for 7 generations.
The vineyard
The Billecart-Salmon vineyard covers 100 hectares from Côte des Blancs to the Reims mountain. The vines are cultivated and cared for in a traditional manner so that the wine resembles real fruit and to reflect the quality of its terroir.
Winemaking and ageing
The Vintage 2008 by the Billecart-Salmon Champagne House is made from grapes which come from the beautiful terroirs of Grand and Premier crus. This Vintage 2008 is aged for 9 years in the coolness of the house’s chalk cellars.
Blend
The product of a great vintage in Champagne, the Vintage 2008 by Billecart-Salmon is made from a blend of Pinot Noir (65%) from the Reims Mountain and the Marne Valley, as well as Chardonnay (35%) from great terroirs in Côte des Blancs.
Tasting
Colour
The wine is an elegant golden yellow with golden reflections. The effervescence is wonderfully fine.
Nose
The nose seduces with its aromatic intensity, which highlights the radiance of the fruit. Tangy notes of citrus, delicious notes of pastry and ripe yellow fruits with scents of mirabelle plum, the sweetness of dried, roasted fruits…the bouqet offers a real succession of delicious scents.
Palate
Chiseled and tight, the palate seduces with its texture as well as its aromas of citrus and shortbread.
Keeping
A deep and distinguished champagne to combine with high-quality pairings, which will evolve gracefully when kept from now to 2028 and beyond for the Magnum size.
Serving
For an optimal tasting, serve between 11 and 12°C.
