After being nurtured for many years by the Bohrmann family, famous for its Burgundy estate, Quinta do Passadouro is now the property of AXA Millésimes. Already owner of the neighboring vineyard, Quinta do Noval, the French group is extending its love of Douro wine to new lands.
The team already in place stayed at the estate, putting their unique know-how to the service of an exceptional terroir. And in joining the Quinta do Noval team, the talent of Quinta do Passadouro has become even richer.
The estate is made up of two plots located in the Douro Valley, in the north of Portugal. The first extends in the prestigious Pinhão Valley, recognised as one of the greatest terroirs of the region. The second plot covers the Roncão Valley, also famous for the quality of its soils and its position. There, on land influenced by the shale of old vines, the superb Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Sousão grape varieties ripen. The even older vines blend several local varieties.
The meeting between this great terroir and an unparalleled know-how is marked by very great Douro wines whose fame continues to grow from year to year. As sublime as they are rare, the wines of Quinta do Passadouro benefit from a rich winemaking heritage that promises to amaze lovers of great Portuguese wines for many years to come.
