Description
A fruity and concise Bordeaux rosé wine
The estate
Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier is at the top of the list of the greatest Grand Cru Classés of Bordeaux. Like a secret garden, this emblematic wine of the Pessac-Léognan appellation is located in a green setting south of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
The Domaine de Chevalier looks after a rare vineyard with a total surface area of 67 hectares. A veritable mosaic of terroirs, this vineyard is planted on fine gravel soils, which rest on an well-drained clay-gravel subsoil.
The wine
For more than 25 years, the estate has produced the Rosé de Chevalier in the Vins de Bordeaux appellation. This Bordeaux rosé wine developed in small quantities is presented in an attractive top of the range bottle where the original label reflects both the modernity and nobility of this wine.
Winemaking and ageing
Domaine de Chevalier's Rosé de Chevalier 2022 is made using the "saignée" method. Once the grapes have been picked, the unmacerated juice (mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon) is pressed directly and fermented separately.
This choice of vinification produces a rosé with a bright colour and intense fruity aromas. With a beautiful freshness, this rosé unveils its great delicacy throughout the tasting.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (70%)
Cabernet franc (30%).
