Château Vray Croix de Gay Wines : Key Points

Located between the finest crus of its appellation, Château Vray Croix de Gay is one of the most magnificent estates in Pomerol, on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region. The estate takes its name from the cross next to the vines, indicating the route for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Château Vray Croix de Gay is one of three properties owned by Maison Siaurac, which also includes the vineyards of Château Le Prieuré in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé appellation and Château Sieurac in Lalande de Pomerol.

Château Vray Croix de Gay was acquired by the Guichard family in 1949 and is now run with passion and talent by Aline Guichard and Paul Goldschmidt. A former winemaker at Pétrus, Jean-Claude Berrouet joined the Château's technical teams in 2013 as consultant oenologist.

Château Vray Croix de Gay is ideally situated on the Pomerol plateau, overlooking an exceptional vineyard extending over 3.67 hectares of vines. The vineyard is made up of two main plots, one next to Château Pétrus and the other behind Château Trotanoy.

The vineyard, which is run using integrated farming methods, has been extensively restructured, with replanting of vines adapted to the soil using a micro-plot approach. Merlot, the black grape variety emblematic of the Bordeaux region, flourishes wonderfully on the land of Château Vray Croix de Gay. Cabernet Franc completes the estate's vineyard.

Expressing all the typicity of the great Pomerols, Château Vray Croix de Gay produces wines with dazzling aromatic richness and finesse. On the palate, the wine has a splendid texture marked by satiny tannins, while retaining great freshness.
