Description
A noble and exceptional vintage champagne
The producer
The Deutz Champagne House was founded in 1838 by two Prussians, including William Deutz, in Aÿ. One was a wine merchant and the other sold champagne. The two founders were involved in bottling, disgorging, dosage and labelling, before even owning their own champagne and vineyards. Throughout the 20th century, the founders heirs gradually drew up the contours of the vineyard by buying plots in the best terroirs of Champagne. Today, the Deutz Champagne House is owned by the famous Roederer family. The rich history of Deutz champagnes harmoniously displays style, virtuosity and refinement.
The wine
This tribute cuvée is made exclusively from the "Meurtet" plot.
The blend
The Hommage à William Deutz "Meurtet" 2012 champagne is a 100% Pinot Noir from Aÿ.
The tasting
Colour
This champagne displays a beautiful chromatic intensity. The effervescence is particularly fine.
Nose
Expressive, the nose blends fragrances of white and yellow fruits with subtle liquorice notes.
Palate
The palate expresses seducing aromas of red fruit (cherry) and a persistent tension stemming from the limestone subsoil. This champagne harmoniously blends the sophisticated and authentic expression of both the grapes and the terroir.
Food and wine pairing
Ideal as an aperitif, the Hommage William Deutz "Meurtet" 2012 wine will perfectly complement foie gras, sashimi, langoustines, lobster, poultry or even tuna steaks.
