The estate

Founded by pioneers, adopted by the local population and shaped by the Andes, Terrazas de los Andes is an Argentine estate with a recent but rich history. Three decades ago, Hervé Birnie-Scott, a French agronomist, decided to move to South America to raise Argentinian wines to the rank of world-renowned fine wines. The challenge was brilliantly met, and today Terrazas de los Andes has become an emblem of great Argentine wines.

The vineyard

Terrazas de los Andes Chardonnay 2020 is a Mendoza wine from a terroir planted at different altitudes ranging from 600 to 1,500 metres. The soil is predominantly clay and gravel, which favours drainage and concentration of aromas.

Winemaking and ageing

Harvested by hand, the grapes are gently pressed. The wine is then fermented in French oak barrels and aged for 9 months. This wine from the Vallé de Uco is then aged in bottle for 6 months.

Colour
The wine has a shining golden yellow colour.

Nose
The nose reveals aromas of ripe white fruit, citrus fruit and vanilla, underpinned by mineral notes.

Palate
Rich and complex, the palate reveals a lovely roundness and a freshness balanced by a lively acidity. The finish is long and lingering, with a fruity and mineral character.

For the best tasting, this Argentinian wine should be served at between 10-12°C.
