Characteristics and tasting tips for the Gran Serpaia 2018 cuvée by Serpaia di Endrizzi
Tasting
Nose
The bouquet reveals magnificent floral and fruity aromas, with delicate notes of rose, violet, blackberry, and cherry.
Palate
In the mouth, the structure is remarkable: dense, enveloping and velvety, with a fine, fresh and perfectly integrated tannic weave.
A remarkable red wine from Tuscany
The estate
Originally from Trentino, Italy, the Endrici family has been cultivating the art of viticulture for nearly 170 years. In 2000, Paolo and Christine Endrici, seduced by Tuscany, founded Serpaia di Endrizzi in the Maremma, near the Tyrrhenian Sea. Inspired by the snakes that once populated these rocky lands, they named their estate "Serpaia" and quickly established themselves as a reference in the region.
The vineyard
The Serpaia di Endrizzi estate extends over 26 hectares, 13 of which are dedicated to the vine. This exceptional terroir, composed of sandy-clay soils, offers optimal conditions for producing wines combining freshness and elegance. In addition, the hot and dry climate, tempered by sea breezes, promotes perfect ripening of the grapes.
Committed to Organic Agriculture conversion since 2023, the Tuscany estate carefully preserves the richness of its vineyard.
Vinification and ageing
A cold maceration is carried out to sublimate the fresh, fruity and floral aromas of the grape varieties. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spends about 12 months in French barrels. This is followed by bottling and an additional ageing of 30 months.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
