As far back as 1542, the Bisol family is mentioned as one of the most renowned wine producers in the Veneto region of Italy, at the heart of the Prosecco production area.
Because of the strategic position of the Valdobbiadene area, on the border between Austria and Italy, the First World War brought the estate's activity to a halt, but it resumed in 1920 under the direction of Desiderio Bisol, nicknamed Jeio by his wife. The Desiderio Jeio brand was born.
Today, the Bisol family's vineyards, from which Desiderio Jeio wines are made, cover a total of 177 hectares, stretch across 35 plots of steep hillsides, from Valdobbiadene to Conegliano, the most prestigious area of the appellation. The Bisol family also owns 3 hectares located in the heart of the Cartizze hills, at an altitude of 300 metres, in an area that combines the benefits of excellent exposure to the sun, tempered by steady winds, with poor clay-limestone soils that produce wines of great freshness, elegance and minerality.
Desiderio Jeio is now a benchmark brand, producing Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene DOCG (Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita) wines that rank at the top of the appellation.
