The story of Caves du Paradis started almost 60 years ago, when Alex Roten founded his company in the Paradis district of Sierre in 1959. Over time, thanks to his determination and his unwavering love for vines, he successfully acquired several plots of land in the region. His vision focuses on the diversity of the terroirs as well as on the typicity of the wines they produce.
Thus, Alex Roten meticulously works on the fine expression of the Valais terroirs in Switzerland. In 1989, Raphaël Roten took over the running of the estate in order to fulfil his passion for wine that has always driven him. In a constant quest for quality, he keeps a close eye on the elaboration of his wines by following the entire process from the vine to the bottle. His deeply respectful vision of nature never loses sight of the cellar's primary objective: "to give time to time". Today, Olivier Roten respects the philosophy of his father and grandfather by succeeding them at the helm of the estate.
Les Caves du Paradis comprises only 10 hectares of vineyards, but the quality of the land leads to some of the finest Swiss wines. Located in the communes of Sierre, Miège and Salquenen, the vineyards benefit from nearly 300 days of sunshine per year. Indeed, the ideal weather conditions has earned Sierre the nickname ''City of the Sun''.
Fendant, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Dôle and Oeil-de-Perdrix are indigenous grape varieties that are meticulously tended to at Caves du Paradis and they reveal the purest expression of the terroirs. The region's specific grape varieties are also nurtured: Humagne Blanche, Humagne Rouge, Petite Arvine as well as Cornalin contribute to the uniqueness of the estate’s wines. Along with these grape varieties, Syrah, Muscat and Chardonnay also offer an impressive range of flavours.
The range of Caves du Paradis wines includes some twenty bottlings that rivet each other's finesse. Some of them are entirely aged in barrels for 12 months. Included in this range, one can fine the very famous Symphonie wine.
