Description
Seductive, complex and refined, a fine 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru wine
The estate
Founded in 1797, Domaine Louis Latour is currently run by the family’s 11th generation and is headed by Louis-Fabrice Latour. As a wine merchant and grower, Louis Latour owns the largest estate of Grands Crus in Burgundy.
The vineyard
This Grand Cru 2020 by Louis Latour is a Montrachet wine that stems from a 0.8-hectare plot located on a hillside in the northern part of Montrachet, in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines are 40 years old on average and are planted on chalk, gravel and limestone soils.
Vinification and ageing
Once the grapes have been harvested by hand, a traditional fermentation process is carried out in oak barrels, along with a 100% malolactic fermentation process. The wine is aged for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels (100% of which are new) from the Louis Latour cooperage.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
