A silky and delicate red wine from Corton Grand Cru
The estate
The largest wine estate in Burgundy, the Louis Latour Estate boasts a wine history of over 200 years. Spread over the most beautiful plots in Premiers and Grands Crus from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, the 50-hectare vineyard of the estate gives birth to a range of wines from 130 appellations, each expressing with authenticity and refinement the characteristics of their original terroir.
Illustrious Burgundy estate, Louis Latour has been actively engaged since 1996 in a viticulture that is conscious and respectful of the environment.
The vineyard
This grand cru is a Corton wine made from several plots facing southeast and grown on a soil of limestone marls.
The vintage
The 2023 vintage in Burgundy stands out for its generous harvest and optimal maturity of the grapes, despite sometimes unstable weather. After a spring marked by a few episodes of frost, the summer, both hot and dry, was tempered by timely rainfall, thus offering ideal conditions for a homogeneous maturation of the harvest. The result gives birth to an exceptional vintage, carried by a remarkable harmony between the fruit, the freshness and the structure. A promising balance that augurs a good aging potential.
Vinification and aging
Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo fermentation in an open vat. 100% malolactic fermentation. The aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the estate's cooperage.
Blend
Pinot noir (100%)
