Description
The refinement and aromatic richness of a Burgundy red revealed by Louis Latour
The estate
The most important wine-growing estate in Burgundy, Domaine Louis Latour has a strong wine-growing history which spans over 200 years. Spread across the finest Premier and Grand Cru plots from Côte de Beaune to Côte de Nuits, the 50-hectare Domaine Louis Latour vineyard produces a range of wines from 130 appellations, each of which express the characteristics of their terroir of origin with authenticity and sophistication.
Domaine Louis Latour has been actively engaged in a environmentally conscious viticulture since 1996.
The vineyard
Aloxe-Corton has been at the heart of Domaine Louis Latour for two centuries. The village is located on a stony hill at the foot of the Corton mountain. It was in 1862 that the name of one of the climats, “Corton”, was added to Aloxe. Aged by 30 years on average, the vines are planted on subsoil made up of clay, sand and alluvial gravel.
Winemaking and ageing
The manually harvested grapes undergo fermentation in open tanks. 100% malolactic fermentation. Ageing lasts for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (of which 15% are new) from the estate’s cooperage.
Blend
The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Village by Louis Latour is 100% Pinot Noir.
