Description
The structure and minerality of a Chablis Grand Cru wine
The estate
Founded in 1923 following the initiative of Abbé Balitrand, the winemaking cooperative La Chablisienne is the most important producer of Chablis wines. From Petit Chablis, to Chablis, Chablis Premiers Crus and Chablis Grands Crus, and the wines from the legendary Château Grenouille, La Chablisienne produces around thirty different vintages and crus which enable lovers of great Burgundy wines to discover the multiple profiles of Chablis wines.
The vineyard
"Les Clos" 2019 by La Chablisienne is a Chablis Grand Cru wine stemming from a vineyard that enjoys an ideal south-western exposure on the right bank of the Serein. The vines are 30 years old on average and are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and ageing
Static cold settling before fermentation. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in barrels. This Chablis Grand Cru is aged for 14 months on fine lees, in vats and in barrels.
The blend
This Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" 2019 by La Chablisienne is a 100% Chardonnay.
