The estate
Founded in 1923 in Burgundy, La Chablisienne is the largest producer of Chablis wines and one of the most renowned winemaking cooperatives in France. Owned by La Chablisienne since 2003, Château Grenouilles is an exceptional estate in Chablis. This estate gives rise to some of the greatest Chablis wines in the world.
The vineyard
Château Grenouilles" 2016 is a Chablis wine made from a 7.2-hectare single vineyard. The vines benefit from an ideal south-western exposure, facing the village of Chablis, on the right bank of the Serein river. The vines are 40 years old on average and are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.
The wine
The legendary Château Grenouilles Grand Cru is the rarest of the Chablis Grands Crus. This legendary white wine offers one of the finest expressions of the minerality of the Chablis terroir. This wine boasts an exceptional ageing potential which enables it to blossom and evolve over time.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes used to make Chablis Grenouilles Grand Cru La Chablisienne are rigorously selected and harvested by hand. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations is carried out in barrels and vats.
This Chablis Grand Cru is aged in vats and barrels for 14 months.
The blend
This Chablis Grand Cru ''Château Grenouilles'' 2016 by La Chablisienne is made up of 100% Chardonnay.
