Description
The minerality and elegance of a Chablis 1er Cru wine
The estate
Founded in 1923 following the initiative of Abbé Balitrand, the winemaking cooperative La Chablisienne is the most important producer of Chablis wines. From Petit Chablis, to Chablis, Chablis Premiers Crus and Chablis Grands Crus, and the wines from the legendary Château Grenouille, La Chablisienne produces around thirty different vintages and crus which enable lovers of great Burgundy wines to discover the multiple profiles of Chablis wines.
The vineyard
La Chablisienne's ''Côte de Léchet" is a Chablis 1er Cru wine made from vines that are 25 years old on average, located on the left bank of the Serein. These parcels are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils and enjoy a south-eastern exposure.
Vinification and ageing
Cold static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in vats and barrels. 12 months of ageing on fine lees in vats and barrels.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
