Description
The freshness and aromatic richness of a fine Tuscan red wine
The estate
Il Marroneto is one of the very few Italian estates who was bestowed a 100/100 score for one of its wines by the famous critic, Robert Parker.
Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori, soon joined by his son Alessandro, this estate is one of the oldest in the appellation, releasing its first vintage in 1980. The estate’s name refers to an ancient 13th century tower used by nuns to store chestnuts for the production of flour.
With a 6-hectare surface area, this Tuscan vineyard located at an altitude of nearly 400 metres on the hills of Montalcino produces, from vines planted graduallysince 1975, wines recognised for their aromatic richness, elegance and extreme finesse.
Il Marroneto's wines express the authenticity and sophistication of their terroir and are considered, by the most discerning wine connoisseurs, to be among the finest in the world.
The blend
This 2018 Il Marroneto Rosso di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese.
The tasting
Nose
