Description
The depth and complexity of a Tuscan red wine
The estate
Il Marroneto is one of the very few estates in Italy to have had one of its wines rated 100/100 by the famous critic Robert Parker. Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori, soon joined by his son Alessandro, this estate is one of the oldest in the appellation, releasing its first vintage in 1980. The estate takes its name from an ancient 13th century tower used by nuns to store chestnuts for flour.
With a surface area of 6 hectares, this Tuscan vineyard is located at an altitude of nearly 400 metres on the slopes of Montalcino. From vines planted gradually since 1975, wines known for their aromatic richness, elegance and extreme finesse are produced. Il Marroneto's wines express the authenticity and refinement of their terroir and are considered by the most discerning connoisseurs to be among the best in the world.
The vineyard
Selezione Madonna 2017 is a Brunello di Montalcino wine made from a special selection of grapes harvested in the estate's historic vineyard with mineral and sandy soil.
The wine
This Italian wine takes its name from the little Madonna delle Grazie church, which dates back to 1200, located next to the vineyard.
