Description
A Venetian wine with an alluring complexity and balance
The estate
The history of the Giuseppe Quintarelli estate began in 1924 with Silvio Quintarelli. In the 1950s, his youngest son Giuseppe took over the management of the estate with the ambition of making great Veneto wines.
A perfectionist and visionary, Giuseppe Quintarelli is known for his rare wines, which are vinified using the traditional technique of drying the grapes on racks (appassimento) and then ageing for many years.
The vineyard
Located in the north of Italy, in the heart of the Valpolicella region, the Giuseppe Quintarelli Estate oversees a 12-hectare vineyard that produces great Veneto wines.
Winemaking and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes were carefully sorted and placed in wooden crates to begin the passerillage (appassimento) phase. The noble rot appears naturally between the end of November and the beginning of December until January, after which the grapes were pressed. Maceration for approximately 20 days before the start of alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged in Slavonian oak barrels for seven years.
Blend
Corvina and Corvinone (55%)
Rondinella (30%)
Cabernet, Nebbiolo, Croatine and Sangiovese (15%).
