Description
A deep and subtle Marsannay wine by René Bouvier
The estate
Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, this Burgundian family estate dates back to the 1950s, when René Bouvier took over the running of the estate, founded by his father in 1910 in Marsannay. Since 1992, the Domaine René Bouvier has been managed by Bernard Bouvier. It reigns over 30 hectares of vines, which are cultivated with a deep respect for the environment. This terroir includes 23 hectares dedicated to red grape varieties and 7 hectares to white varietals.
The vineyard
"Le Clos" Monopole 2019 by Domaine René Bouvier is a Marsannay wine made from a 3-hectare plot located to the west of the village of Couchey. The vines, located between 289 and 328 metres above sea level, in the middle of a hillside, are around 30 years old. They are planted on clay-limestone soils with an eastern sun exposure.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification in 600 litre barrels. Double fermentation and 18 months ageing in barrels (30% of which are new).
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
