Description
A limited edition wine magnifying the elegance of a Sauternes Premier Cru Classé
The estate
Premier Cru Classé de Sauternes in 1855, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, a major property owned by Vignobles Silvio Denz, is one of the most prestigious names in the emblematic sweet wine appellation, located in the south of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey reigns over a 36-hectare vineyard that is reserved exclusively for the production of its Sauternes Premier Cru Classé. Although this exceptional terroir is 40 years old on average, some parcels were planted in 1926.
The wine
Since 2016, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey has released a limited edition wine for which the engraving "Femme et Raisins", designed and produced by René Lalique in 1928, is adorned in gold at the Lalique factory in Alsace.
The empty bottles are gilded at the Lalique factory and then sent to the château for bottling.
2020 is the fifth edition of this emblematic Sauternes wine, with each bottle presented in a unique, numbered case.
An interplay between French savoir-faire and savoir-vivre, Lafaurie-Peyraguey Golden Edition 2020 is the perfect marriage between the gold of Sauternes and the Alsatian excellence of the House of Lalique.
Vinification and ageing

Sauvignon Blanc (12%).
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey's Golden Edition 2020: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
Nose
The concentrated nose blends delicious and refreshing citrus notes (kumkat, lemon, grapefruit) with a smooth feel reminiscent of a vanilla custard with a hint of toast.
Palate
An ample attack precedes a mouth with a rare aromatic richness. The finish is persistent, with a nice bitterness evoking the freshness of citrus zest.
