Description
A precise and expressive great red wine from Pomerol
The property
Gradually established by the Léglise family from Libourne in the middle of the 18th century, the Château L’Évangile was quickly considered as a "Premier Cru du Haut-Pomerol". After being owned by the Ducasse family, it was in 1990 that the Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite became the owners, eager to bring the wine to its best level. From the vineyard to the cellar, Château L’Évangile has undergone significant restructuring and modernisation, allowing the property to shine among the most beautiful references of the Pomerol appellation.
The vineyard
Château L’Évangile is a Pomerol wine from a vineyard in a privileged location between Château Pétrus to the north and Château Cheval Blanc to the south. The vineyard is planted on sandy-clay soils with pure gravel, resting on a subsoil made up of the famous iron crasses.
Blend
This Château l’Évangile 2023 is made from a blend of Merlot (78%), Cabernet Franc (21%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (1%).
