Description
A Premier Grand Cru Classé from Pessac-Léognan with an inimitable signature
The property
The Château Haut-Brion, founded in the 16th century by Jean de Pontac, is the oldest of the Grands Crus of Bordeaux. Located in Pessac, the estate covers 51 hectares, 48 of which are dedicated to red grape varieties. Since 1935, the Dillon family has been managing the property, ensuring continuity in winemaking excellence.
The vineyard
The terroir of this illustrious Pessac-Léognan property is characterized by a gravelly soil with a sandy-clay subsoil. This 2017 vintage comes from vines with an average age of 36 years.
The vintage
2007 was marked by a mild winter and a warm spring, followed by a cool and unstable summer. The clemency of September and October was a saving grace, promoting optimal ripening of the berries.
Vinification and aging
Vinification in stainless steel tanks. The aging lasted between 18 and 22 months in barrels (71% new).
Grape varieties
This Château Haut-Brion 2007 is the result of a blend of cabernet sauvignon (44%), merlot (43%) and cabernet franc (13%).
