Description
A Blanc de Blancs champagne with an elegant and rich expression magnified by an innovative design
The producer
The Perrier-Jouët Champagne House was founded by Pierre Perrier and his wife Adèle Jouët in 1811. Produced from exceptional Champagne terroirs (Aÿ, Mailly-Champagne, Avize and Cramant), the house's wines are renowned for their unique style which combines aromatic richness, refinement and finesse. From 1861, Perrier-Jouët became Queen Victoria’s official champagne, then that of the French Imperial Court.
Owned by the Champagne Company, GH Mumm, since 1959, Perrier-Jouët's uniqueness lies in its iconic cuvée's prestigious "Belle Epoque" bottle, designed by Emile Gallé in 1969.
The vineyard
This Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs perpetuates the innovative spirit of the house which created its first 100% Chardonnay champagnes in the 1920s. Produced from the best terroirs in the Champagne region and made with a small quantity of reserve wines, this cuvée benefits from 3 years of ageing on lees. Surprisingly fresh and vibrant, this champagne is the perfect expression of the Perrier-Jouët style.
The wine
Committed to respecting its environment and bearing strong values regarding art and nature, the Perrier-Jouët Champagne House reveals its limited edition Blanc de Blancs champagne in a designer box.
The Blanc de Blancs Limited Edition Garance Vallée is the result of a collaboration with this French artist, architect and designer who, through an innovative label and a box with various shapes and colours, translates the perfect balance between plants, animals and minerals with the nature and the ecosystem of the Champagne vineyard.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats followed by malolactic fermentation. This champagne, with a dosage of 8 g/litre, benefits from an ageing process that is more than twice as long as the required specification of the appellation.
