Description
The purity of a crystalline Brut Nature and the precision of a Brut Nature rosé in the same box set
The estate
Founded in Reims in 1776, the Louis Roederer Champagne House has remained family-owned and independent. The Louis Roederer House has been in the hands of the same family for over 200 years. Today, it is run by Frédéric Rouzaud, who represents the seventh generation of the lineage. Louis Roederer embodies the excellence of Champagne wines worldwide thanks to cuvées that are produced like works of art.
The vineyard
With nearly 241 hectares of vines, the Louis Roederer house derives its strength from its extraordinary vineyard, which is solely made up of Grand and Premier Crus in the Marne Valley, the Reims Mountain and the Côte des Blancs. The vineyard at the Louis Roederer House is a real mosaic of terroirs, with 410 plot that reflect all of the diversity of the Champagne region’s soils.
The wine
The Brut Nature and Brut Nature Rosé by Philippe Starck 2012 box set comprises two wines from the collaboration between the famous designer and the prestigious Louis Roederer Champagne House. Made exclusively from Coteaux de Cumières, these cuvées invite you to (re)discover the expression of two champagnes that offer a seductive purity and aromatic richness.
The vintage
Despite low yields in 2012, the continental climatic conditions during the end of season enabled the team to obtain grapes that reached a rare level of maturity, resulting in rich and powerful wines that reveal all the grandeur of their terroirs of origin.
Vinification and ageing
Up for 15% of these two vintages are vinified in oak. No malolactic fermentation. The vinification of the Brut Nature Rosé by Philippe Starck 2012 is unique in that a small proportion of the Pinot Noir grapes are vinified separately and "infused" for a few days in the cold before being poured into the Brut Nature Blanc.
The blend
Louis Roederer's Brut Nature and Brut Nature Rosé by Philippe Starck 2012 are made from a blend of Pinot Noir (55%), Pinot Meunier (25%) and Chardonnay (20%).
