Description
An aromatic and delicate Grand Cru champagne
The producer
Founded in 1949, the Jeeper Champagne House takes its name from the vehicle, the Willys Jeep, that the creator of the estate used to drive around his vineyard.
Acquired in 2009 by Nicolas Dubois, a self-taught wine enthusiast, Jeeper joined forces in 2013 with Michel Reybier, owner of Château Cos d'Estournel (Saint-Estèphe) and with former basketball player Tony Parker from 2002.
The vineyard
Jeeper reigns over a vineyard of around fifty hectares that spread over the illustrious terroirs of Champagne, namely the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Marne Valley.
The wine
This Cuvée Grand Cru Brut by Jeeper is made from a rigorous selection of grapes from parcels located in the villages of Oger, Le Mesnil, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Avize. These hillside vineyards lie on limestone soils.
The dosage of this Brut champagne is 6g/litre.
Vinification and ageing
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. 50% of the Chardonnay is vinified and aged for 2 years in oak barrels (demi-muids). The wine is aged on laths for a minimum of 6 years.
The blend
The Cuvée Grand Cru Brut by Jeeper comprises a blend of Chardonnay (98%) and Pinot Noir (2%).
