Description
A Tuscan red wine with delightful depth and vivacity
The estate
A family-run estate, Castello Banfi has become a benchmark among Tuscan wines over the years. Renowned for its great Italian wines, the Banfi family pays meticulous attention to its vineyards, as demonstrated by the research carried out since 1982 on the cloning of the Sangiovese grape variety in order to produce exceptional wines.
The Castello Banfi vineyard: an idyllic setting for quality viticulture
Nestling among the green hills of Tuscany, the vineyard stretches over shallow sandy-clay soil. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate conducive to vine-growing, the estate produces top-quality Tuscan wines.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at a temperature of 25-30°C. This Chianti Classico wine is then aged for around 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels.
