They are also famous for having taken part in major works such as the Santo Spirito Basilica and the Santa Trinita Bridge.
Owned by the Frescobaldi family since the 10th century, Tenuta Castiglioni is the focal point of the family's winegrowing history. It was here that the Frescobaldi family began their winegrowing activities in 1300. By 1500, the wines of Tenuta Castiglioni were making a name for themselves at the Papal Court and the English Court of Henry VIII.
Today, Tenuta Castiglioni remains one of the 6 pillars of the Frescobaldi family, along with the estates of Tenuta CastelGiocondo, Tenuta Ammiraglia, Tenuta Perano, Castello Nipozzano and Castello Pomino.
