Description
The structure and complexity of a South African white wine
The estate
Beaumont Family Wines is a family estate located in Bot River in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. The origins of the estate date back to 1974, when Jayne and Raoul Beaumont began planting vines on the land of a farmhouse that was built in the 1700s. Since 2015, Sebastian Beaumont has been the second generation to lead this estate, known for its elegant and aromatic South African wines.
The vineyard
Beaumont Family Wines Chenin Blanc is a Western Cape wine produced since 1996.
The vintage
A cold, wet winter gave way to a summer with particularly mild conditions ensuring an optimal ripeness of the grapes.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested early to preserve their freshness and balance. The grapes are pressed in a new press before a slow and progressive fermentation in concrete and stainless steel vats. Aged for six months in vats on the lees.
The blend
Chenin Blanc (100%).
