The vivacity and elegance of a Corsican white wine
The estate
Father and son winegrowers, for the Leccias, wine is undeniably a family affair. Son, grandson and great-grandson of winegrowers, Yves Leccia naturally followed this path, setting up his own estate with his partner Sandrine in 2005. Located in the north of Corsica, in the heart of the Patrimonio appellation, the estate now oversees 15 hectares of vines on the sublime plots of E Croce and Partinelone. Freshness, minerality and purity of fruit are the hallmarks of this passionate winemaker's cuvées, an invitation to discover the finest jewels of the Patrimonio appellation.
The vineyard
E Croce Blanc 2022 is a Patrimonio wine from a vineyard ideally situated on slopes facing the Mediterranean Sea. The schist and limestone soil and the Mediterranean climate that influences it provide ideal conditions for growing local grape varieties. Sustainable, environmentally-friendly viticultural practices are at the heart of the estate's philosophy, and the vineyard is farmed organically.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed and the must is settled at a temperature of 8°C for 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 18°C, generally lasting 15 to 20 days. The wine is then aged in vats for 6 months.
