In the veins of Yves Leccia flows a passion for vineyards and wine. Born in a wine region, his vocation became obvious early on. He created his own estate with Sandrine, his partner, in 2005. Today, Yves Leccia’s estate includes 15 hectares of vineyards, including the beautiful parcels of E CROCE and PARTINELONE, in the heart of the Patrimonio appellation, in the north of Corsica.
The vines planted on slopes enjoy southwest exposure, and clay-limestone soils with shale. Their location is ideal, at the foot of the mountain range from the Corsica Cape, favoring a microclimate that allows the fruit to reach optimal maturity each year.
In order to show the most respect for the local fauna and flora of the region, Yves Leccia manages his vineyards by plowing the vines to avoid the use of herbicides, relying exclusively only organic material to maintain the natural health of the soil.
The vineyard of Yves Leccia are quite representative of Corsican terroirs, planted with autochthonous varieties, like Vermentinu, Niellucciu, and Biancu Gentile, supplemented by Grenache and Ugni Blanc.
Meticulous work, close attention, and a perfected management of vine yields combine with accurate and controlled winemaking to make Yves Leccia an important reference in the Corsican appellation of Patrimonio.
All his wines reveal the particular expression of their terroir of origin, while also maintaining their own strong identity. Freshness, minerality, and a purity of fruit on the palate are always emphasised by a pleasant texture. The wines of Yves Leccia are an open invitation to (re)discover the appellation of Patrimonio.
