The estate
An essential reference among the finest Sicilian wines, the family-owned estate, Tasca Conti d'Almerita has been producing exceptional Italian wines for eight generations.
The Tasca Conti d'Almerita estate comprises 5 estates, including Tenuta Tascante since 2007. Situated in the foothills of Europe's highest volcano, this estate owes its distinctivness to its terroir whose volcanic soil contributes to the unique signature style of these Etna wines.
The vineyard
This Contrada Sciaranuova "V.V." 2016 wine by Tasca Conti d'Almerita - Tenuta Tascante is made from the vineyards of the Contrada Sciaranuova. Located at 730 metres above sea level on the north-facing side of Mount Etna and planted in 1961, this 4.9-hectare terroir rests on 40,000 to 4,000-year-old volcanic formations.
The vinification and ageing
Alcoholic fermentation for 8 days. Malolactic fermentation. Aged for 12 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels.

Nerello Mascalese (100%).
