The historic Feudi del Pisciotto estate is located in a rural, traditional area of south-east Sicily, between Caltagirone, Sicily's pottery capital, and Piazza Armerina, around an hour from Ragusa and Modica. With origins dating back to 1700, Feudi del Pisciotto was one of the most important vineyards in Sicily.
Today, the Feudi del Pisciotto estate still houses the old buildings dedicated to wine production, including the famous "Palmento," from the Latin "paumentum," the act of pressing. This ancient wine press works by gravity. Once the grapes are pressed, the juice is transported directly into the barrels. This old press has been renovated, but without any modifications. It is now linked to a modern vinification cellar, enabling a larger volume of wine to be produced using the very latest technology. The Feudi del Pisciotto estate is also home to a superb Wine Relais with hotel and restaurant, inviting guests to discover the art of Sicilian living.
Located in a triangle between Piazza Armerina, Caltagirone and Vittoria, the vineyards of the Feudi del Pisciotto estate cover an area of 44 hectares, where indigenous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Frappato grow alongside international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sémillon and Gewürztraminer.
The Feudi del Pisciotto estate stands out for the production of its wines that shine with charisma, produced in the Terre Siciliane appellation.
