Nestled on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, the Château Minuty vineyard enjoys a privileged location on the slopes of the villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle, an exceptional terroir in the heart of the Côtes de Provence.
What is the history of Minuty?
Acquired in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet, the estate, built under Napoleon III, regained its prestige thanks to a total replanting of the vineyard, leading to its classification as a Cru Classé in 1955. In the 1960s, Monique and Étienne Matton restructured the vineyard, relying on local grape varieties and controlled yields to guarantee excellence. Since the 1990s, Jean-Étienne and François Matton have carried on this heritage, making Minuty a world reference.
A mosaic of terroirs
Located in Gassin, near Saint-Tropez, Château Minuty flourishes in the heart of the Massif des Maures. Its 160-hectare vineyard is divided into three terroirs: 60 hectares around the château, 80 hectares in Vidauban and 20 hectares on the slopes of Valdérian, overlooking the Bay of Pampelonne. Cultivated without the use of weedkillers or pesticides, the estate adopts integrated viticulture, enriching the soil with natural organic matter. Each grape variety (tibouren, rolle, grenache, syrah, mourvèdre) is planted according to the soil type, combining schist, limestone and clay-limestone.
In the cellar, unwavering precision and exacting standards
Minuty is one of the few estates to continue hand-picking to preserve the integrity of the grapes. After destemming, the grapes are lightly crushed, cooled and inerted to prevent any oxidation. Pressed pneumatically at low pressure, the juice is carefully drained for optimum extraction. A long fermentation at low temperature reveals their aromatic potential, followed by progressive racking before blending.
A unique style: between purity and elegance
With their modern bottle design and a style that combines elegance, freshness and expression, Domaine Minuty wines win over wine-lovers with their unique personality. While 85% of production is devoted to rosés, the whites and reds remain essential. The Minuty signature also lies in its sleek, modern bottles and its state-of-the-art bottling line, which keeps oxidation to a minimum.
