Founded in 1968 by Al and Boots Brounstein, Diamond Creek is a true jewel of Napa Valley. Indeed, thanks to the visionary spirit of these two pioneers of modern viticulture in California, the estate was quickly recognised for its ability to dignify the expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. To carry out this project, the couple studied in depth the soils and the microclimates since these play a decisive role in the character of the wine.
They took the time to understand the terroirs that make up Diamond Creek and split them precisely into four plots: Volcanic Hill, Gravelly Meadow, Red Rock Terrace and Lake. In this way the wines produced from each of these lands are fair reflections of them.
Now owned by Louis Roederer, a French champagne house known for its love and respect for terroirs, Diamond Creek is constantly seeking to create wines that express the unique character of plots with varied geology. Indeed, on the 20 hectares of vines of the property, the variety of soils offers the possibility of working all the nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon in single varietal wines whose reputation is second to none.
The Roederer champagne house, for which pure and precise crus are paramount, views Diamond Creek as the ideal place to explore these two qualities. To do this, the estate relies on a talented team that knows the Diamond Mountain sector perfectly and has worked in the heart of Napa Valley for decades.
