Description
Structured and rich, a fine Macedonia white wine
The estate
The Pieria Eratini estate was founded in 2006 by three oenologists, Pavlos Argyropoulos, Andreas Pandos and Stelios Pyrpilis.
Known for their powerful and generous expression, these Macedonia wines exude the aromatic nuances of the local grape varieties (Xinomavro, Assyrtiko, Malagouzia) and French grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah) that make up these fine Greek terroirs.
The vineyard
This Macedonian and Thracian estate’s 15-hectare vineyard is located at 400 metres of altitude in the heart of the Mount Olympus region, facing the Aegean Sea.
Certified as an organic vineyard by the DIO organisation, approved by the Greek Ministry of Agriculture, this exceptional terroir benefits from a mountainous climate which ensures a natural temperature regulation.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified based on the variety. Cold maceration before fermentation at low temperature in small stainless steel tanks. This Macedonian wine was aged in oak and acacia barrels.
Blend
Eyxes Eratines Wishes 2018 from Pieria Eratini is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Xinomavro.
