Description
A Chablis Grand Cru wine enhancing the richness and refinement of the Chardonnay variety
The estate
Established since 1859, Maison Louis Jadot is a true benchmark in Burgundy. Its adventure began with the acquisition of a plot of land in 1826. Its trading activity led to its swift international recognition. Today and since 1992, the house is managed by Pierre-Henry Gagey and still ensures that Burgundy wines remain accessible to those who love high-quality wines.
At the head of Maison Louis Jadot since 1992, Pierre-Henry Gagey entrusted his position to Thomas Seiter (Bouchard Père et Fils) and role of General Manager to his son Thibault Gagey in September 2022.
The vineyard
Louis Jadot's "Blanchot" 2021 is a Chablis Grand Cru wine from vineyards located on a hillside on the right bank of the Serein River. Benefiting from a continental climate marked by particularly cold winters and hot summers, the vines rest on marly soils giving the wines of the appellation a unique and singular signature style.
The vintage
2021 is a year marked by severe frost at the beginning of April and unstable weather conditions throughout the year. Despite a below-average harvest, the quality is reflected through the floral and well-balanced white wines as well as vibrant, full and aromatic red wines.
Vinification and ageing
A gentle pressing is followed by vinification in oak barrels and stainless steel vats. Aged for 15 to 18 months on fine lees.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
