An elegant and structured Pauillac wine

The property
Lacoste-Borie, the second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, was created in 1983 and is located in the Pauillac appellation, in the heart of Bordeaux. The vineyard extends over 90 hectares, with a production of 58 hectares, mainly of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. Under the direction of François-Xavier Borie, who has revitalized the estate since its acquisition in 1978, Lacoste-Borie stands out for its accessible quality, offering an alternative to the grands crus while respecting Bordeaux traditions.

The vineyard
The vineyard of this must-see property of Pauillac, with an area of 58 hectares in one piece, rests on deep gravel soils on a very hilly relief. The average age of the vines is 38 years.

The vintage
Manual harvest followed by a double sorting on a vibrating table before and after destemming. The maceration is long, about 3 weeks. The aging takes place in fine-grain French oak barrels, with 45% new wood, for 14 to 16 months depending on the vintage.

Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (65%)
Merlot (26%)
Cabernet franc (9%)
