A Terrasses du Larzac red wine with a seductive freshness and intensity
The estate
The La Pèira estate was founded in 2004 by Karine Ahton, a French lawyer, and Robert Dougan, an American film music composer.
Comprising a surface area of 11 hectares, the estate plays an active role in elevating the reputation of Languedoc wines through vintages that are renowned for their finesse and aromatic complexity.
The vineyard
La Pèira is a Terrasses du Larzac wine made from vineyards that are 20 years old on average.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts. Fermentation at low temperature (24°C) with pumping over and punching down. Post-fermentation vatting for a fortnight. Aged for 18 months in new barrels or second-fill in different containers.
