The property
For 4 generations, the Joseph Drouhin Estate has been a benchmark for great Burgundy wines. Founded at 22 years old in 1880 by Joseph Drouhin, the estate has grown over the years to reach its current size of 80 hectares spread over renowned appellations (Beaune, Bonnes-Mares, Chassagne-Montrachet, Clos Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne, Grands-Echezeaux, Pouilly-Fuissé, …). This family of pioneers has, since the 1957s, advocated respect for the terroir and the environment both in the management of the vineyard and in the making of its great wines.
The vineyard
The Pouilly-Fuissé Village from Joseph Drouhin is made from grapes planted on clay-limestone soils dating from the Jurassic period. This Pouilly-Fuissé wine is a refined and authentic expression of the terroir of the emblematic rocks of Solutré and Vergisson.
Vinification and aging
Vinification begins with pneumatic pressing. After settling, the juices partially ferment in tanks (about 2/3) and partially in 500-liter oak barrels (1/3). The aging continues in a mixed way for a period of 6 to 10 months.
Blend
Chardonnay (100%)
