An elegant and expressive Ribera del Duero wine
The property
Located north of Madrid in the province of Castile and Leon not far from the prestigious estate Vega Sicilia, Dominio de Pingus is one of the biggest names in Spain.
It was in 1995 that Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck founded Dominio de Pingus. Sensing the extraordinary potential of the Ribera del Duero region and guided by the ambition to produce a great wine reflecting the expression of its terroir, this renowned winemaker made a meticulous parcel selection of old tinto fino vines, the local name for the tempranillo grape, to elevate Dominio de Pingus to the rank of the most famous wine estates in the world.
The vineyard
The Dominio de Pingus vineyard is traditionally worked respecting the system of low vines "en vaso". The confidential production of Dominio de Pingus, with extremely low yields, ranging from 20 hl/ha to only 9 hl/ha, makes it one of the most sought-after Castile-Leon wines in the world.
The wine
The PSI cuvée is a Ribera del Duero wine made from a selection of more than 600 parcels of old vines located at an altitude between 850 and 950 meters on clay-limestone soils. Crafted with all the talent and expertise of the great Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck and following in the footsteps of its elders, the PSI cuvée combines power and elegance while presenting a more accessible style.
Vinification and aging
Vinified in concrete vats, this wine benefits from aging in foudre, complemented by a partial passage in new barrels, bringing complexity and structure.
