Description
An intense and refined Pommard wine
The estate
More than a dozen generations have succeeded each other at the Domaine Parent, each contributing its stone to the building. In the 20th century, Jacques Parent brought a breath of modernity to the estate. Today, his daughters Anne and Catherine Parent closely ensure the perpetuation of this family heritage, thus devotedly following in their father's footsteps. Adept at organic and biodynamic viticulture, Domaine Parent aspires only to precisely express the balance between power and finesse and, of course, the unique essence of each climate. The result is wines that, due to their unique character, find their place on gastronomic tables alongside the great wines of Burgundy.
The vineyard
"Les Charmots" is a Pommard wine from vineyards resting on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
After manual harvesting carried out with the utmost care, the grapes are meticulously sorted on tables, one of which is vibrating. Subsequently, the bunches are partially destemmed and the berries macerate cold for 3 to 5 days. Temperature control, punch-downs, and pump-overs 2 to 3 times a day accompany the vinification process. In total, the wine remains in the vat for 16 to 18 days. Then, the wine ages for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels, 35 to 40% of which are new, before being bottled at the estate.
Blend
This Pommard 1er cru "Les Charmots" 2020 from Domaine Parent is a 100% pinot noir.
