Description

An expressive and elegant Beaune red wine

The estate

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy's most iconic estates. Boasting a century-old history, Château de Meursault is a true gem among the finest Meursault wines, currently owned by the Halley family.

The vineyard

The 1er cru "Grèves Les Trois Journaux" 2021 by Château de Meursault is a Beaune wine that stems from a 0.49-hectare vineyard. The east-facing vines are planted in the middle the hill and rest on particularly gravelly, sometimes sandy, clay-limestone soil. The name "Les Trois Journaux" refers to the three days' work on horseback required for a plot of this size.

Vinification and ageing

Following the harvest, the grapes are destemmed. Pre-fermentation maceration for 15 to 18 days in vats, followed by fermentation for 5 to 6 days. The wine is aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels (40% new, the rest are second and third-fill barrels).

The blend

Pinot Noir (100%).
