The estate

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy’s legendary estates. With more than 1,000 years of history, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is a true jewel among the great wines of Meursault, now owned by the Halley family.

The Domaine du Château de Meursault, in the Meursault appellation, oversees a 65-hectare vineyard spread across a hundred or so plots of land on emblematic Burgundy terroirs such as Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Volnay and Pommard.

The vineyard

"Les Maréchaudes" 2022 is an Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru wine that stems from a vineyard of 70 ares of vines located at the bottom of the hillside and facing east/south-east on a clay-limestone soil.

Winemaking and ageing

The bunches were sorted and then destemmed. The grapes were then optically sorted in order to keep only those of the best quality. Pre-fermentation maceration then alcoholic fermentation accompanied by punching down and pumping over to bring about gentle extraction. Aged for 15 to 18 months in new barrels (35%), in one-wine barrels (30%) and in two-wine barrels (35%).
