Description
The freshness and complexity of a Corsican red wine
The estate
In the heart of the breathtaking Taravo Valley, south of Ajaccio, lies one of the biggest names in Corsican winegrowing: Domaine Comte Abbatucci. For over a century, Domaine Comte Abbatucci has cultivated the art of preserving the island's indigenous grape varieties by applying the principles of biodynamic viticulture. The estate's island environment gives its vintages unrivalled character and strength. In a style dazzling with purity, finesse and freshness, discover the DNA of Corsica through vintages bursting with flavour and colour.
The wine
This cuvée was created to celebrate the birth of Faustine, the daughter of Jean-Charles Abbatucci, currently at the head of the estate.
The vineyard
Cuvée Faustine Vieilles Vignes Rouge is a Vin de France coming from Corsica's granite terroir. The vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested, de-stemmed and received by gravity. Skin maceration takes place in concrete vats. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for six months in stainless steel vats. Once the different juices have been blended, the wine is racked and filtered.
