Description
The beauty of the great terroirs of Burgundy
The property
Founded by Anne-Françoise Gros in 1988, the Domaine A.F. Gros extends over the greatest terroirs of Pommard and Vosne-Romanée. Anne-Françoise Gros and François Parent, her husband, indeed combined their domains to exploit 10 hectares in the heart of the cradle of the greatest red wines of the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits but also of Beaujolais. Today, their children Mathias and Caroline have joined the adventure alongside their parents, perpetuating with dedication their precious heritage.
Recognised worldwide for the high quality of its wines, the Gros-Parent family brings to life superb cuvées in very limited quantities.
The vineyard
The Chambolle-Musigny cuvée from Domaine A.F Gros comes from a vineyard composed of several plots located in the south of the appellation. The vines are planted on a shallow soil, composed of gravel rocks and limestone favouring the aeration of the roots and their deep anchoring. In pure respect for the terroir, the vineyard is traditionally managed on the principles of sustainability (soil ploughing, selective pruning, leaf thinning and green harvesting).
Vinification and ageing
Domaine A.F Gros practices exclusively manual harvesting. The vinification is carried out in enamelled concrete vats as well as wooden vats. The wines are aged in oak barrels from the forests of Chatillonnais and Fontainebleau.
