Description
A powerful, fresh and elegant red wine from Saint-Julien
Château Talbot is named after the legendary Constable Talbot, a renowned English warrior who lost the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. This 4ème Cru Classé en 1855, produced in the Saint-Julien appellation, benefits from a vineyard of 101 hectares, composed of vines aged 42 years on average and planted on Medoc gravel. The wine is aged in barrels, half of it in new barrels. The blend of the 1995 vintage contains 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc
With its deep, slightly amber-red colour, the château Talbot 1995 reveals a complex and distinguished nose, with woody aromas and ripened fruit. On the palate, it is powerful and tannic but not aggressive, offering fresh and elegant touches of flavour.
