Description
A full-bodied and fresh Haut-Médoc wine
The estate
The first vines of the Château Sénéjac were planted in the 16th century. This estate, owned by the Bignon-Cordier family since 1999, is a very serious reference of the Haut-Médoc appellation.
The vineyard
A true green setting for biodiversity, Château Sénéjac is a Haut-Médoc wine from a 37-hectare vineyard. The vines, with an average age of 35 years, are planted on Pyrenean gravel soils deposited during the Quaternary on the clay-gravelly ridge of Pian-Médoc. These gravel soils ensure effective soil drainage and help regulate the water stress suffered by the vine in case of lack of water reserve.
Vinification and ageing
Manual and mechanical harvesting, as well as successive sorting. Vinification in stainless steel tanks. The ageing lasts 12 months in barrels, 25% of which are new.
Blend
This Château Sénéjac 2023 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Merlot (29%), Cabernet Franc (11%) and Petit Verdot (7%).
