Description
A powerful and expressive Côtes de Provence rosé wine
The estate
Roger Zannier, owner for more than 25 years of the Quinta do Pessegueiro in the Douro Valley, acquired Château Saint-Maur in 2011 with the ambition to make his name among the Côtes de Provence wines. Located some kilomètres from Saint-Tropez, Château Saint-Maur has been a Cru Classé since 1955.
The vineyard
L'Excellence rosé 2022 is a Côtes de Provence wine that stems from the Château Saint-Maur vineyards, of a 100-hectare surface area, planted on a clay-limestone terroir rich in schist and quartz.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes underwent cold maceration at a low temperature, followed by ageing in stainless steel vats.

Tasting
Colour
The wine has an elegant pale colour, with peach- and lychee-hued highlights.
Nose
Puissant et aromatique, le bouquet aromatique dévoile de savoureuses notes de fruits exotiques (mangue, passion). Powerful and aromatic, the aromatic bouquet unveils delicious exotic fruit notes (mango, passionfruit).
Palate
Expressive and elegant, the palate develops fruity scents, mingled with a hint of citrus, along with a lovely mineral expression which lasts into a saline finish.
Food and wine pairing
L'Excellence 2022 du Château Saint-Maur pairs perfectly with white meats, grilled fish or steak but also with sorbets.
