Though the episodes of frost at the end of April 2017 did not spare the great terroir of Château Olivier, the efforts by the team of the property allowed the grapes to express the very best of this challenging vintage. The climatological conditions of the summer allowed the fruit to reach full maturity and offer a superb phenolic richness just in time for harvest.

With its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), supplemented by Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot representing a smaller proportion than in previous vintages (2%), the Chateau Olivier red 2017 from Pessac-Leognan is a successful wine indeed.

With its freshness and intensity, the Château Olivier red 2017 displays a superb and powerful aromatic bouquet, dominated by blackcurrant and blueberry notes. Vibrant and energetic, the attack in the mouth explodes with delicious fruity notes enhanced by a brilliant acidity, while tight-grained tannins provide structure and depth that unfolds on a persistent length, leaving a pleasant sensation of minerality on the palate.
